McGregor PACE, a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, is a community based program for seniors whose mission is to provide an alternative to nursing home placement.

Agency growth dictates our need to hire an additional "experienced" Medical Records Specialist with 2 years of experience in the healthcare industry.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Pull and review charts that are to be used daily
  2. Responsible for organizing and sending out medical records that are requested.
  3. Maintain proper format of the medical records
  4. Review charts as scheduled to ensure that all reports are in correct chart format
  5. Check all reports for signatures and dates before filing in the charts.
  6. Mark certain that the information in the chart is that of the correct patient.
  7. Maintain log to ensure all required records are in the chart and track missing items until received and placed in the chart.
  8. Maintain chart sign-out/in log for charts removed from the chart room.
  9. Maintain requirement forms log for dis-enrolled/deaths.
  10. Purge Active charts according to guidelines: Maintain dis-enrolled participant charts, file as needed.
  11. Communicate with clinical staff and other staff member of the interdisciplinary team.
  12. Process Care plans, addendums, schedules invitations and post care plan correspondence.
  13. File as needed.
  14. Responsible for requesting, receiving and processing affiliate medical records including maintaining and requesting proper documentation for authorization for release of medical records from participants/family members.

Qualifications

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic database skills, required.
  2. Attention to detail and the ability to function independently required.
  3. Associates degree in Medical Records Technology or other related health care profession is preferred.
  4. One to two years previous experience in medical records in hospital or LTC, or Certification in medical records preferred.
  5. Knowledge of healthcare and National PACE program preferred .
