Project Manager/BA - Financial Services - Glasgow (Contract/Permanent)

Location: Glasgow, Scotland Country: UK
 

A global leader in Financial Services is looking for a Project Manager/Business Analyst to join their team working on a long-term, global programme, renovating Mainframe platforms to improve resiliency and time to market. The programme covers mitigating expertise attrition risk to the firm, reducing risk by decommissioning the ISG Mainframe.

The role requires the candidate to have an understanding of programme and project management fundamentals, process analysis and design best practices, system architecture principles and data management. The need to balance work on multiple projects will make this role complex, challenging and rewarding.

Role:

  • Create project plans to organise and manage project/programme streams
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritise work and drive milestones
  • Understand and document dependencies between workstreams and communicate timelines
  • Manage, track, and resolve issues
  • Co-ordinate across global IT and Operations groups to understand project progress/issues/risks, and remediate critical issues to the programme
  • Manage stakeholder expectations - create reporting templates, establish status meetings, highlight project and delivery risks
  • Communicate information to different levels of the organisation

Job requirements:

  • +4 years in program management, project management, and/or business analysis
  • Experience creating and communicating programme roadmaps
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups to prioritise work and understand dependencies
  • Experience implementing and running programme governance and related deliverables (status reports, raid logs, etc)
  • Experience tracking and communicating programme and project status
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, people-interaction and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong Data Analysis capability
  • Ability to multi-task with good organisational and time management capabilities
  • Excellent in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience working in Agile and Waterfall projects
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or a related field
